If you want to study in the Czech Republic, Masaryk University may be one of the best choices. Because it is one of the top university in the Czech Republic according to EECA rankings ( Top 5 Czech Universities). In addition, It is the second largest university in the Czech Republic. It established in 1919 in Brno. Brno is a popular city for higher education among international students.

Masaryk University has 600 fields of study with almost 32,500 students. Every year 7500 students have completed their graduation from this university.

Application process (Step by Step):

Step 1:  Chose your Course:

Firstly, choose your desired course here. Most importantly check entry requirement, tuition fee and deadline.

Step-2: Submit your application

Secondly, create an account in the university’s e-application portal. Hence, upload all the required documents.

Step-3: Pay your Application Fee

If you need to pay an application fee, pay it through your master card.  Bangladeshi Students can pay this application fee through Aqua Card of EBL. It is an easy process. If you have an aqua card, research your card in USD with sufficient fund. (if your application fee is 600CZK, you need deposit Tk.1700-2000). Therefore, enter your card number and OTP in the portal. After that, the application fee deducted automatically from your card.

Step-4: Skype Interview

After reviewing your documents, the admission committee may decide to take a Skype Interview.  Do not worry about it. It is a simple interview. The interviewer asked some simple question about the university, Czech Republic, the reason for choosing a specific subject, etc.

Step-5: Wait for the results

In mid-May, you will be notified about the results by email.

Step-6: Collect hard copy

When your application will complete, the university will send you all necessary documents to your address. There will be a conditional admission letter, housing contract, and other necessary documents.

Step-7: Preparation for visa

finally, prepare your necessary documents and apply for a visa.

Scholarship

01. Accommodation support by university

The university provides accommodation cost for the student who meets their requirement. But, It is awarded each semester only. As a result, you may be need to bear your own accomodation.

Scholarship requirement:
  • enrolled in a full-time degree program
  • If it is your first-degree program at any university in the Czech Republic
  • You may have completed your degree program between May 1 and October 30 of one calendar year, are not taken into account.
  • Maintain the standard length of studies
  • You do not have a permanent address in Brno city.

An applicant who fulfills all the criteria can submit an application by November (Fall Semester) and by April (spring semester). Application link

 

02. Scholarships provided by individual faculties

Many departments of Masaryk University provides financial help for their students.

You can apply for this financial support through the department :

  1. Faculty of Social Studies
  2. Faculty of Arts
  3. Faculty of Economics and Administration

 

03. Government scholarship

International student gets support from the Czech government for bachelor, masters’ or Ph.D. program. The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic annually offers these scholarships.

04. Federal student aid for students from the USA

The US student will get a student loan from the Federal Direct Student Loan Program. They get this scholarship for the following program only:

  • Master´s Degree Programmes of Sociology (Cultural Sociology, International Joint Master’s Degree in Cultural Sociology, Sociology),
  • European Politics
  • European Governance
  • Energy Security Studies

05. Erasmus+ Master loans

The international student of Masaryk University is eligible to apply for Erasmus loan. Master students can receive a loan of up to €12,000 for a 1-year Master or up to €18,000 for a 2-year. Website

06. International Visegrad Fund

This scholarship support Master and post-Master students in all discipline. Also, researchers can apply for these. Furthermore, it is applicable in any language for up to four semesters. Masaryk University’s student can apply for this fund.
